Plenty of Fish recently introduced a new targeting criterion on May 6th, 2011 that allows to target which users that have clicked a certain number of ads. You now have three options available. Hopefully in the near future they’ll split up the middle option into groups of 5.

  • Ads Clicked 0-4
  • Ads Clicked 5-19
  • Ads Clicked 20+

As soon as they announced this I immediately wanted to test this.  The campaign details are below. Only thing that changed between campaigns was Ads Clicked. I used the same offer and same creatives for all these tests. The test was run Tuesday, May 10th – Monday, May 16th.

  • Country = United States
  • Age Between 18, 24
  • Gender = Male
  • Marital Status = Separated, Widowed, Divorced, Single
  • Browser Type ≠ Android/iPhone
  • Ads Clicked = 0-4 or 5-19 or 20+
  • Frequency Cap: 3
  • Bid: 50c
Campaign Ads Clicked 0-4 Ads Clicked 5-19 Ads Clicked 20+
Impressions 300,244 299,129 292,424
Clicks 407 428 494
CTR 0.136% 0.143% 0.169%
Conversions 19 19 12
Costs $150.12 $149.56 $146.21
Conv. Ratio 4.67% 4.44% 2.43%

Wanna make money in the dating vertical?

[shameless-self-plug]

If you’re you a newer affiliate that is struggling to find a profitable campaign or are wanting to scale your revenues into the dating vertical, I have a solution for you.

I’ve decided to start my own affiliate network that specializes in the dating vertical.  I’ve only brought on dating offers so that I can provide you advice that will help you become profitable on these offers.  I’ve ran 90% of these offers profitably.  I’m willing to hand over creatives, ad copy and traffic sources to my affiliates as long as you run these offers on my network.

My default payment schedule is bimonthly, net 1.  Revenues earned 1st – 15th will be paid on the 16th and Revenues earned 16th – 31st will be paid on the 1st.  If you’re in a pinch for money, just let me know and I’ll schedule a weekly payment for you.

There are numerous affiliates that I’ve helped become profitable and got tired of earning only 2% for 6 months.  I already have a handful of affiliates that have ran profitable campaigns on my network.  The results speak for themselves!

If you’re interested, join Riis Advertising and hit me up on AIM/Skype: rileypool.

Oklahoma Affiliate Meetup 2011

RevenueAds is hosting the second annual Oklahoma Affiliate Meetup. It will be held Friday, March 18th at 12pm at the RevenueAds Office in Midwest City, OK.  If you’re anywhere near Oklahoma City I suggest making your way out there. You will definitely enjoy yourself.

I co-founded the event last year, but unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, I will not be able to make it down there this year.  Last year we had Ian Fernando and Murray Newlands give a presentation about affiliate marketing and how they got into the industry.  They catered lunch and we then went out to eat followed by a fun time downtown.

This year they have John Chow coming down to speak.  Ben from PlentyOfFish.com will be there as well, so if you have ANY POF question you need answered, that would be a great time to ask. I’ve heard rumors that Jonathan Volk may also be in attendance, but don’t quote me on that.  I also read that they may even have an Oklahoma City Thunder player in attendance.  Hopefully they make it happen!

On this year’s agenda it looks like they are again catering in lunch and will have an open bar at the office.  They will also have door prizes and they had some awesome gifts.  Last year, they had something Gucci they gave away and a couple bottles of Cristal.  Afterwards, they have a suite at the Ford Center in downtown Oklahoma City for you to enjoy watching the Oklahoma City Thunder play the Charlotte Bobcats.  Their suite will also includes an open bar and hors d’oeuvres.

Facebook Banishment and Follow up to February’s 28 Day Challenge

Posted by Riley | Posted in Affiliate Marketing | Posted on February 16th, 2011

After analyzing my original post, I thought that taking a single offer and scaling it to another country was fair enough to consider it a second campaign.  I also reconsidered scaling a campaign to a second traffic source and decided it should count as another campaign.

Using this method I was able to successfully scale out 27 different campaigns until early Wednesday morning on February 9th.  Very few of these campaigns were profitable right off the bat, but there were a few and I was able to scale those immediately.  I was able to triple my gross revenue and double my net income in those few days.

I wish I was able to continue this challenge, but unfortunately I woke up that Wednesday afternoon to find out that all my Facebook accounts were banned, including my profile.  They wiped out everything related to my card that was on file.  This has since decimated my earnings as I was completely focused on Facebook.  So I quit keeping track of the challenge.  I do know that if I had continued to keep track, I would’ve hit my goal already because I’m already promoting a handful of other offers and using a number of other traffic sources.

I’m now working on getting my income back up to acceptable levels.  I’m working on other traffic sources and trying to test some stuff outside of dating.

I hope to attempt this type of challenge again soon because it was turning out very well for those first 9 days.
