Were your Facebook Ads disapproved yet again?

Here’s a Christas present for the noobs.

Are you getting tired of submitting ads over and over again hoping Facebook finally approves them this time around? If so, read on.

You must ask yourself, do my ads meet all of Facebook’s Advertising Guidelines? If they meet all the criteria and they get disapproved simply email affiliates@facebook.com an email asking why. I’ve included a sample email below.

Why were the ads in CampaignName disapproved? I believe they meet all your advertising guidelines. And if they don’t, please let me know what I need to change to get them approved. Thanks!

You’ll be amazed at how often they will reply to you and say they were mistakenly disapproved, they were re-reviewed and approved. Or if they believe they don’t meet the advertising guidelines they usually will tell you specifically why they were disapproved and what you can do to get them approved next time they’re submitted.

Go ahead and try it!

I’ve tried this – they are good with communication. I actually emailed them today regarding a retroactive disapproval, I’ll keep you updated on how they respond.

My ad has been disapproved and then approved now for the third time. I find this to be extremely frustrating. It’s obvious that their process is not very thorough. My site allows users to post the cruise ship, destination and departure date of a cruise they are going on and then connects them with others who will be on that ship. Facebook keeps telling me this site is a dating site which is absolutely ridiculous. After they review the site, they apologize and reactivate it. 3 days later is once again gets disapproved for the same reason. Somebody needs to take a little more time in the review process.

I’m just starting with FB and have no doubt i’ll be using this advice :)

I have one dating site that was using facebook ads for a year with good success. The problem started when I added the second dating site. Both are not nothing more that dating with no adult content.

With the second site I would create one ad and when it was approved I would create the exact same add again and only change the country I was targeting and one word like Bolivia v/s Panama. I would get a string of disapprovals and then a string of approvals and there was no sense to it.

Well, I finally challenged them and questioned their inconsistent process and “Molly” took exception to my questioning even though it was polite in nature.

So to punish me I received this email.

Hi Steve,

The content advertised by this ad is prohibited. We reserve the right to determine what advertising we accept, and we may choose to not accept ads containing or relating to certain products or services. We do not allow ads for dating sites with a sexual emphasis. We will not allow the creation of any further Facebook Ads for this type of site. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.

Thanks for your understanding,

Molly

So what she did was terminate all my ads on the second site http://www.date4u2.com that were running AND terminated the ad from my first site that had been running for 1 year. Not only that, she basically said do not bother submitting ads for either site again.

My belief is that Molly took exception to the Theme of my sites (Asian ladies dating Western men) or she was just irritated that I questions her. So she took it upon herself to terminate my ads and the thousands of dollars I had been paying just to make a point.

So the lesson learned here is do not question the inconsistent approval process with Facebook or face retribution for your crimes.

P.S. I challenge her or anyone at Facebook to find one picture or word on the site listed above that constitutes a “sexual emphasis” on the site. It is dating, nothing more and nothing less.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
